Domitian of Carantania, or Domitian of Carinthia (born as Domislav; known as Tuitianus too), Duke of Carantania and Catholic Saint from the time Charlemagne;

Domitian mentions ''Vita'' (=''Life''); according to it he was Carantanian duke and successor of third Christian duke of Carantania, Valtunk.〔C. L. Dedek: Szentek élete I, pg. 158〕〔Carantanian duke Valtunk, Valhun or Valjhun, † about 785; see: France Prešeren: ''Baptism on the Savica''〕 In a Latin written work, which deals with the history of Carantania, '' Conversio Bagoariorum et Carantanorum '', although his name is not mentioned. As Valtunk's successors in turn are listed dukes Pribislav, Semika, Stojmir and Etgar.
In the heat of germanisation in 1907 historian Robert Eisler in his book ''The legend of Saint Caranthanian Duke Domitian'' as first argues, that Domitian did not live and that he would also only invention of Benedictines monks of Millstatt's monastery from the 12th century. They let the legend used for the conversion of the pagan Slavic population to Christianity. With him they agreed many Austrian historians; later turn argue that Domitian really lived and that the legend of the man or the emergence Millstatt monastery based on true events. About this write especially archaeologists Franz Glaser and Franz Nikolasch.

Some historians believe that the Domitian before his baptism was called '' Domislav ''.〔J. Šavli: ''Slovenski svetniki'', page 11〕
